A long time ago I heard the phrase, “Your thoughts create your reality.” What does this mean to you? I think the truth goes a little bit deeper. As Francisco Coll shared, “You’re not what you think you are, you are what you think.”

You may consciously tell yourself certain thoughts, but subconsciously be actually thinking the opposite. For example, during a session with one of my Life Purpose Breakthroughs clients recently, we discovered a situation like this. She has concerns about the safety and wellbeing of her son who is getting into trouble. Her conscious thoughts are, “I know it’s his life and he needs to learn his own lessons in his own time. I can’t interfere.”

But, even as she told herself this, her subconscious thoughts and feelings were, “I wish I could stop him from doing these things! I just want to protect him and look after him.” It is natural to feel that way about your own child. But until my client acknowledged the subconscious thoughts that were really controlling her, she couldn’t heal herself.

That’s why these limiting thoughts are so sneaky! They are often hidden underneath other more “rational” thoughts. If you are experiencing circumstances in your life that you dislike or want to change, then you can bet that there are some limiting thoughts and beliefs within you that need to be healed.

Here are 3 steps you can use to heal your limiting thoughts immediately:

Step 1. Acknowledge how you REALLY feel.

Take a little meditation time to yourself, and grab a journal if it’s helpful to you. Cleanse, and bring to mind the area that is concerning you. Perhaps it’s that you want to increase your business and no matter how hard you try it doesn’t seem to be working. Or perhaps you have some issues with a relationship with a spouse, family member or friend.

Whatever the situation is, bring it into your consciousness. Allow yourself to be honest about what you REALLY feel. Don’t worry that you’re being negative, just go there and acknowledge it. Write down what you are experiencing and the feelings and thoughts that come to your mind.

This step is important because you can’t change something until you know what it is. Go deep for the sake of your own healing.

Step 2. Release the limiting thoughts and feelings.

There are many tools for releasing and you can choose the one that works best for you. Perhaps you already have a tool that you are using that you would do here. Here’s some that I suggest that have been working for me lately. Spiritual Cleansing and cleansing your environment. (Always the first step!!)

Visualize all the old energy in a ball above your head and say “1-2-3 release” at least 5 times until the ball disappears. Also, forgiveness mantras and EFT are amazing tools that I’ve learned through Denise Duffield-Thomas’ course on releasing your money blocks. Check out her course here if you’d like to learn more. https://yu103.isrefer.com/go/lbb/mjkitto/

Step 3. Decide the new belief you are going to replace it with.

This step is CRITICAL and it’s one that people often skip. You can’t just release something, because then you’re left with a void. You need to replace that void of energy with a new positive belief. For example, if your old limiting belief was, “I don’t deserve to be rich,” then you could replace it with,“I am open to receiving the abundance of the universe.”

My Life Purpose Breakthroughs client was trying to replace her limiting thoughts before she did Step 1 of acknowledging her inner feelings and Step 2 of releasing the limiting thoughts. Once she did these 3 steps in order, she was really able to believe her new positive thought.

Create a positive mantra for your new positive belief and practice saying it to yourself anytime you feel out of balance. And keep cleansing often!

Now, I’d love to hear from you. What is the limiting belief you need to heal and what will you replace it with? Post in the comments below.
